RUCK rolo spin: Innovative fascia therapy – safe, simple, effective

Rutschfestes Trainingsgerät für Fußgesundheit

HELLMUT RUCK GmbH is launching the new rolo spin, an innovative training and therapy device specifically designed to mobilise the plantar fascia. As a complement to the popular rolo foot roller, the rolo spin provides an effective method for mobilising and strengthening the foot muscles. Suitable for the prevention and treatment of foot problems.

Plantar fasciitis and fascial health problems in the foot are a common occurrence in podiatry practices. The recommended mobilisation technique often involves the same procedure: patients roll their foot over a golf ball or tennis ball. This is a simple and widely used solution, but it does not allow for controlled pressure application or targeted movement guidance. For sensitive structures such as the plantar fascia, this is not a suitable solution, but rather a compromise. This is precisely where the newly developed rolo spin fascia trainer comes in.

“It was important to me to develop a safe alternative to golf and tennis balls for mobilising the plantar fascia – a product that is practical and at the same time follows in the footsteps of the rolo foot roller developed by my grandfather 70 years ago,” explains Managing Director Simeon Ruck.

The product: control rather than compromise

The rolo spin has motion, regulates the pressure and provides support – precisely where the foot is most sensitive. With two interchangeable attachments – a gently rounded version for broad-area stimulation and a tapered shape for more intense, targeted pressure – the device can be tailored to individual needs. A non-slip silicone pad delivers a secure grip when sitting or, with careful use, even when standing.

The result is a training device for fascial therapy that meets three key criteria:

  • Targeted: Defined pressure point directly on the plantar fascia, no uncontrolled strain on surrounding structures
  • Safe: Two attachments for adjustable intensity
  • Reproducible: Non-slip base for robust use – both in the practice and at home

70 years of experience – from the scooter to the rolo spin

Yet as early as 1956, Hellmut Ruck Senior developed the foot roller – with a clear vision: to restore the foot to its natural function. A successful therapeutic concept, particularly for malalignments such as hallux valgus. The foot roller restores motion to the muscles, promotes the foot’s own activity and thus supports long-term therapy.

70 years later, Simeon Ruck is building on his grandfather’s development and introducing the rolo spin as the perfect complement to the foot roller: where the rolo foot roller promotes motion, the rolo spin delivers a targeted penetrating effect.

  • The rolo foot roller works at a functional level:
Activation of the foot muscles, support for hallux valgus problems and correction of incorrect weight-bearing
  • The rolo spin targets the fascial structure specifically:
Targeted mobilisation and localised treatment of the plantar fascia

A successful debut at BEAUTY Düsseldorf

The rolo spin was unveiled to industry professionals for the first time at the exhibition in Düsseldorf from 20–22 March 2026. Renowned orthopaedic technician and podo-orthesiologist Axel Krauss demonstrated on site in practical sessions how the new fascia trainer can be used specifically to mobilise the plantar fascia. The positive reactions from trade visitors confirmed that there has been a lack of controllable therapeutic aids for fascia work in everyday professional practice: the rolo spin closes this gap.
