Product description
  • Two-part custom orthoses system with maximum elasticity, extremely tear-resistant, with moisturising properties, non-irritating (no zinc oxides).

  • All degrees of hardness can be combined with each other.

  • CE-marked Class I Medical Device

RUCK® Orthoses Moulding Material Soft, Light Yellow is produced without aggressive solvents and produces dimensionally stable, elastic silicone orthoses with a smooth surface. With a Shore A rating of ~25, it offers an optimum combination of support and pressure relief and is suitable as a universal orthosis – both as a full-surface orthosis and as a soft inner lining. The formation of a mineral green orthosis with a Shore A rating of approx. ~30 is provided by mixing it with ‘strong’, ice grey (Shore A ~40). When used in combination with supersoft (Shore A ~15), a natural beige orthosis with approx. Shore A ~20 is produced. All moulding materials are compatible with the RUCK® Custom Orthoses Hardener, white (250 g, item no. 7150001). CE-marked Class I Medical Device in accordance with the EU MDR.

Application videos as learning modules

Every foot is different. That is why bespoke orthoses are an important part of modern podiatric care. They help relieve pressure, stabilise malalignments and can help reduce health problems in everyday life.

With RUCK ortheses materials, you can create bespoke solutions precisely tailored to your patients’ needs – from gentle relief of pressure on sensitive areas to the targeted correction of toe misalignments.

Step by step to finding the suitable Orthoses

1. | Define the area of application

First, select the area of application and make a note of the required quantity in ml. On the back of the mixing chart card, you will find the suitable mixing ratio.

2. | Read the mixing ratio – determine the degree of hardness and the moulding compound based on the application area

Use the 5-ml spoon to measure out the hardener (white). Then, using the 2.5-ml spoon, take one portion each of the Soft moulding compound (light yellow) and Supersoft moulding compound (pink). Thanks to the combination of the components, the desired hardness of ~20 Shore A. is formed.

3. | Mix the moulding material and hardening compound thoroughly

  • 1 x 5 ml of hardening compound using the 5 ml measuring spoon
  • 1 x 2.5 ml each of supersoft and soft moulding material

Mix the moulding material and the hardening compound correctly until a homogeneous mixture is formed.

4. | Adapting to the patient

Adapting the orthoses to the patient’s specific needs and measurements to ensure maximum comfort and functionality.

Tip: The Rinki toe bandage (item no. 74413) (1.5 cm × 4 m) is suitable for providing particular reinforcement to retaining rings and delivers greater stability for your orthosis.

Final product: A custom orthosis

Why choose custom-made orthoses?

  • Bespoke solutions rather than off-the-shelf options
  • Targeted pressure relief for stressed areas of the foot
  • Support for malalignments and toe deformities
  • Individually adjustable levels of firmness
  • High wearing comfort thanks to elastic silicone compounds

Customised degrees of hardness – easily mixed

Thanks to the careful combination of the three new RUCK moulding material, different degrees of hardness can be produced for bespoke orthoses. The resulting colour combinations provide a simple guide and help to determine the correct mixing ratio quickly and consistently.

You can then set the optimum balance between stability and elasticity depending on the indication, and adapt each orthosis precisely to the needs of your patients.
