Cuticle nippers & cuticle nippers: For professional skin and foot care professionals

Cuticle nippers are standard equipment in podiatry and foot care professional. As precision tools, they are used to remove skin residues, corns or calluses. They also play an important role in the care and processing of nail folds and interdigital spaces. Thanks to their sharp cutting edge and filigree workmanship, they achieve the best possible results. In addition to our RUCK cuticle nippers, we also offer products from our private label partners such as Aesculap.

What cuticle nippers & cuticle cutters are used for

Cuticle nippers & cuticle nippers are used in pedicure and manicure as well as in podiatry. Their benefit is located in the sharp, usually bevelled cutting edge, which enables precise application and highly good visibility of skin or nail surfaces. Possible applications include:

  • Removal of corns
  • Filing of callus and callouses
  • Removal of dead, superfluous skin residues
  • Filing of torn skin on toes and fingers
  • Care and processing of the nail fold and cuticle
  • Removal of rivet nails
  • Sensitive work on skin and cuticles
  • Filigree work in the spaces between the toes

What types of cuticle nippers are there?

You will find cuticle nippers for different areas of application, depending on the shape of the cuticle, the workmanship and the size. Depending on the model, the type and length of the cutting surface varies. In most cases it is a highly sharp cutting edge in a bevelled, straight or curved type. Short to medium-length blades are suitable for fine, precise work on skin and nails, while blades with a longer type are recommended for thicker skin residues.

In our range you will find cuticle nippers with a familiar scissor handle - not unlike common nail scissors. We also offer cuticle nippers with a straight handle.

  • Scissor handles: Cuticle nippers with scissor handles enable precise filing and cutting of skin residues and cuticles, even for delicate work on skin, cuticles and spaces between toes. They also offer an optimum view of the areas to be processed. Due to the sharp, bevelled cutting edge, they are the suitable instrument for removing small calluses or torn skin remnants.
  • Spring handles: Cuticle nippers with straight handles (usually in trapezium shape) can be found with either single or double springs. In both versions, the instruments offer a secure, ergonomic grip and excellent transmission. This is especially important when working on thicker skin. Versions with a double spring are suitable here, as they achieve a slightly higher leverage effect.
  • Tweezer handles: A special form are cuticle nippers with a tweezer shape, which you grip like tweezers between thumb and forefinger to remove small skin particles.

How to use cuticle nippers & cuticle nippers

The application of cuticle nippers with a scissor handle and without springs is similar to the work with nail scissors or small scissors. You use the cuticle nippers with two fingers instead of your whole hand. In addition, unlike the spring handle, the handles do not return to their original position. Cuticle nippers with a spring handle are operated with the pressure of the whole hand. The springs yield to the pressure and return to their original position when the pressure is released. This ensures optimum leverage.

After use, it is recommended to treat nails with a nail file or cuticle pusher to smooth nail areas or seal cut areas. Before and after application, it is also important to observe skin and hand hygiene along with correct disinfection of instruments.
