Measuring systems: Whether for determining foot length, shoe size or range of motion – measuring systems help with the determination of important orthopaedic parameters.
Stockings and compression garments: In cases of venous disorders or circulatory problems, compression stockings relieve pressure on the venous and lymphatic systems.

Other types of socks include protective heel socks, anti-inflammatory and healing silver-thread socks, or toe socks that protect against blisters and improve mobility.
