Hygiene room accessories for practice equipment

The hygienic reprocessing of instruments and equipment requires high-quality hygiene room accessories. Only then can the risk of infection be minimised and legal requirements for disinfection and sterilisation be met. The core element here is a seamless reprocessing cycle in the hygiene room. Discover hygiene room and disinfection products such as sterilisers, autoclaves, thermal disinfectors and dispenser systems at RUCK.

What does "hygiene room" mean?

In everyday practice, reliable skin and wound disinfection is essential to prevent infections and the spread of pathogens. Equally important is a hygiene guideline that reliably incorporates the statutory hygiene and infection protection regulations. The centrepiece of a hygiene guideline is the so-called hygiene room. This is where instruments and equipment are cleaned, disinfected and sterilised along with being prepared for their next use.

The hygiene room should be divided into an "unclean" and a "clean" area along with a "storage" area. Actions such as cleaning and disinfecting instruments are carried out in the unclean area. Visual inspection, sterilisation along with packaging, final inspection and final release take place in the clean area. In this way, recontamination or contamination stays impossible when sterilised instruments are stored.

What hygiene room accessories are available?

As the requirements for hygiene rooms are high, a wide range of specialised equipment and numerous accessories are available. These include:

  • Autoclaves
  • Sterilisers
  • Thermal disinfectors
  • Cleaning and disinfection devices
  • Dispenser systems for skin and hand disinfection
  • Towel dispensers
  • Ultrasonic devices
  • Foil sealers
  • Medical waste bins
  • Water purifiers
  • Ultrasonic devices

Disinfection or sterilisation: the difference

Depending on the type of application, a distinction can be made between disinfection and sterilisation:

  • Disinfection: Disinfection enables reliable germ reduction, where microorganisms can be reduced to a harmless minimum. A thermal disinfector is usually used for instruments and equipment. Surface disinfectants are used for surface disinfection.
  • Sterilisation: Sterilisation is carried out using significantly more aggressive processes that guarantee absolute freedom from germs and viruses. The aim is to kill all microorganisms and spores. Autoclaves, hot air sterilisers, sterilisation packaging and containers along with film sealers are used here.

Traceable documentation on the reprocessing of instruments is also essential for a complete hygiene cycle.

Our hygiene room accessories at a glance

Our product range offers the following hygiene room accessories, among others:

  • Autoclaves: Autoclaves, also known as steam sterilisers, are used for absolute sterility thanks to sterilisation. Here, steam is used as a sterilising agent. Thanks to slightly higher pressure in the drill, the steam reaches temperatures of up to 134 degrees to kill all microorganisms.
  • Washer-disinfectors (washer-disinfectors): WDs enable proper automated cleaning and disinfection in the reprocessing cycle. They utilise mechanical, thermal and chemical treatment similar to a washer-disinfector with uses and carriers for instruments. Depending on the model, water mixed with chemicals is used under high pressure and at high temperatures.
  • Hot air sterilisers: Similar to the autoclave, hot air sterilisers also use heated air. This is very hot dry air that reaches even higher temperatures of up to 350 degrees.
  • Ultrasonic cleaning devices: Fast, hygienic cleaning is carried out using ultrasonic frequency and various ultrasonic modes. Ultrasonic cleaning is often contacted before the use of disinfection devices and sterilisers.
  • Water purifiers: They are used for water treatment for cleaning and disinfection cycles, from demineralisation to quality monitoring.
  • Film sealers: They ensure germ-free, antiseptic sterilisation in the autoclave along with germ-free storage and removal of sterilised instruments and equipment in the practice.
  • Dispenser systems: You need dispenser systems in your practice for fast, contactless dispensing of disinfectants for skin and hands along with hygienic towel dispensing.
