Nail prosthetics

Nail prosthetics: replacing incomplete or missing nails

Whether you have severely injured or deformed, incomplete or missing toenails - with nail prosthetics you can help nature along. Repair stressed, thin and cracked nails or protect the sensitive nail bed thanks to the custom-fit fabrication of artificial toenails. You will find everything you need instead at Hellmut RUCK.

A brief portrait of nail prosthetics

As an extension of classical podiatry and a separate specialist area of nail correction systems, nail prosthetics is extremely important. As an additional qualification, it can complement your range of services and then open up a whole new patient base for you. Specialisation strengthens your professional competence and creates an optimum basis of trust. Finally, you position yourself as a versatile foot care professional with specialist know-how.

Nail prosthetics not only offers aesthetic solutions for deformed toenails. It can also promote healthy nail growth and then contribute to the complete rehabilitation of the nails. With their durability of up to three months, artificial toenails are sustainable and comfortable. Individually made and precisely fitted, they are almost indistinguishable from natural nails at first glance.

Nail prosthetic sets and matching accessories

In order to make artificial toenails with a long life span, individual fit and comfortable wearing properties, various materials and high-quality nail correction systems and other accessories are necessary. You will find everything you need in our extensive online shop - certified according to EN 13485 and ISO 9001:

  • Impression tray
  • Impression material
  • hardening liquid
  • Plastic
  • Self-curing nail compound
  • Mixing vessels
  • Nail plates
  • UV gel

Making and applying nail prosthetics: Then it's done

How do you contact the artificial toenail in place? We tell you how best to proceed with the production and fixation of nail prostheses on the foot - step by step:

  • Disinfect the affected toe and completely remove loose nail parts with the help of corner nippers.
  • Roughen the remaining nail plate with a diamond grinder. Then degrease the ground nail with alcohol as a result of which the nail prosthesis will adhere securely to it.
  • Allow the nail to dry for one to two minutes. In the meantime, mix the denture material in a jar with the help of a spatula. Once the solution has a honey-like consistency, you can proceed to the next step.
  • Now apply the mixture to the dry nail and create an individual shape using the spatula and your fingers. Then let it set for about five minutes.
  • Shape the finished prosthesis with the nail cutter and smooth it with the diamond cutter. If desired, patients can even have their artificial toenail painted.
