Applying beauty products professionally: it works with the right brushes
Working clarifying exfoliation products or nourishing masks into the skin, shaping eyebrows, applying powder, eyeshadow, blush or lipstick: make-up brushes are used for a large range of applications. The selection of different brush shapes, materials, sizes and designs is correspondingly large.
Experienced beauty experts swear by the quality of their beauty tools. Often, the choice of a suitable brush can determine the success of a treatment. Whether you prefer to use brushes and brush sets with natural bristles or allergen-free synthetic hair depends on your personal preferences, the needs of your customers and the products you use. No matter what you decide, at RUCK you benefit from first-class quality and maximum product variety.
Which one for what? RUCK’s brief guide to brushes
Blenders, buffers and kabuki brushes: Whilst some brush shapes already provide a description of their intended use in their names, others are different and prove to be useful all-rounders. We explain which make-up brushes are perfectly suited to which tasks.
- Applicators: Furnished with a rounded head made of foam or Rubyzell, they are suitable for applying cream and powder eyeshadows over large areas or in precise spots – depending on the product, they can be used either slightly damp or dry.
- Eyeshadow brushes: You can receive them in various shapes and designs, from flat and angled to slightly rounded, eyeshadow brushes with natural bristles or synthetic hair apply cream and powder eyeshadows with precision to the eyelid. Fine, tightly bound brushes with an asymmetrical cut are suitable for applying gel eyeliner.
- Blush brushes and powder brushes: Blush and powder brushes are comfortable and fluffy. Whilst cosmetic brushes for applying powder and liquid blush are more compact than large powder brushes, both types are absolute essentials for a nourished make-up look. Blush brushes are also available in a slanted shape, which adapts optimally to the contour of the cheeks.
- Travel powder brushes and kabuki brushes: If you’re often on the move or like to keep your make-up brushes in your handbag, compact travel powder brushes and kabuki brushes are recommended. These can be stored in the integrated brush case using a twist or slide mechanism and are comfortable in terms of space savings. The fine bristles then stay protected.
- Fan brushes: Fine, fanned-out cosmetic brushes are used if decorative cosmetics such as highlighter, blush or contour powder need to be applied sparingly and subtly. Then they deliver an especially natural finish.
- Lip brushes: Compact, firmly bound, flat and comfortable to use, they provide a way to apply lip colour correctly, whether it is creamy or liquid. Applying lipstick with a brush can improve its staying power.
- Eyelash brushes with or without a comb: Eyelashes and eyebrows at their best – these convenient cosmetic brushes make it entirely effortless. Both eyelash serums and eyebrow gel or powder can be applied with precision using these tools.
- Foundation brush: With their lightweight, slightly rounded brush head made of synthetic bristles, foundation brushes are the perfect choice for applying liquid or cream make-up.
- Concealer brushes: Concealer brushes are similar in shape to foundation brushes, but are significantly more compact. With these handy beauty tools and the suitable cream concealer or camouflage make-up, dark circles under the eyes disappear in no time.
- Face mask brush: Made from vibrant natural bristles, face mask brushes are used for applying body wraps, face masks or hair removal wax.
- Cuticle pusher: Whether used on its own or when used in combination with a convenient brush or cleanser, cuticle pushers are the best choice for gently pushing back and removing cuticles.
- Spot Swirl: Spot Swirls with different head sizes are suitable for both pushing back cuticles and applying nail art.
- Dusting brush: Remove dust or fine hairs in a flash – high-quality dusting brushes are provided with high absorbency and soft, supple bristles.
Complements to make-up brushes
Besides convenient brush sets and brush bags, at RUCK you can also buy mildly formulated and highly effective brush cleaners and brush soaps. After all, impeccable hygiene is essential when it comes to direct skin contact.
A typical feature of the eyeshadow brush is its narrow head, which is angled on some models. It helps with applying eyeshadow to the eyelid and, if desired, creates perfect smokey eyes. The tip of eyeshadow applicators is usually made of foam. With classic eyeshadow brushes, you can determine whether to use natural or synthetic bristles.
Eyeliner creates subtle accents
The eyeliner brush is one of the most delicate and so also one of the most precise cosmetic brushes. It is used to apply lines to the eyelid – the so-called eyeliner stroke. In the RUCK Cosmetics Online Shop, you will find, amongst other things, brushes with a tip made of pure red sable hair.
The lip brush draws attention to the mouth
Lip brushes are a popular option for conventional lipstick. However, they allow lip colour to be applied much more precisely. Their rounded tip is made with either natural or synthetic bristles.
Cosmetic brushes from RUCK: professional quality
Synthetic or natural-hair cosmetic brushes from RUCK are suitable and popular tools in the field of decorative cosmetics. They are easy to control, sit comfortably in the hand and are robust. Available in numerous brush designs and shapes, they skilfully cover every area of application.
Many products from the HELLMUT RUCK GmbH development team can be purchased in a version with natural bristles – for example, from the red-haired marten. Cosmetic brushes with synthetic bristles or foam applicators, on the other hand, have the benefit that they can also be used by customers with animal hair allergies or by vegetarians and vegans.
Tip from RUCK: As is well known, even professionals in their field never learn entirely. For this reason, the RUCK Academy offers a wide range of classroom courses, webinars and workshops for professional beauticians. You and your staff can take advantage of these opportunities for further training at any time. This delivers even better practical results in your beauty salon along with many satisfied customers.
