Orthoses customised to the individual

Customised pressure relief

A superior quality, two-part orthosis system in 3 levels of hardness:
super-soft, soft und strong.

Made from just two components and without the addition of aggressive solvents, you can produce dimensionally stable silicone orthoses of high viscosity and with a smooth surface. All 3 degrees of hardness can be combined with each other and then offer the possibility of a super soft inner surface with a firm outer surface. Slightly re-lubricating properties minimise friction and shearing forces. Also perfectly suitable as impression material for making plaster models. The material is conveniently non-irritating and as a result can be used on all skin types. It conforms to the essential requirements of the current EU and UK medical device regulations (Class I) and therefore suitable for medical use.

Special features of RUCK pressure protection orthosis system:
> Highly adaptable
> Toxicologically safe
> ree from zinc oxides
> Permanently elastic
> Easy to apply
> Different levels of hardness can be combined with each other
> Re-lubricating properties

Application of the two-part orthosis system

Observe the following points before application:

> Both orthosis materials must not come into contact with latex.
> The lids of the pots must not be mixed up.
> After touching the hardener, do not reach into the pot of the forming material.
> Please use only the white measuring spoon for the forming material and the purple one for the hardener.
> Forming material and hardener should always be mixed of the same type (Soft - Soft/Strong - Strong/Super-Soft - Super-Soft, in case of different mixtures the consistency and setting time will change).
> Store the Super-Soft material in the refrigerator for better handling.
> When proceeding with Soft and Super-Soft material, apply cream to the hands before starting and, in the case of Super-Soft, cool the hands.

Preparation steps:

> First take an adequate amount of forming material and hardener with the measuring spoons provided for this purpose and press flat.
> Then put the flattened masses on top of each other and roll them.

> Important: Knead quickly by flattening and rolling up 4 – 8 times.
> Now create a ball and carefully fit it to the area to be relieved and protected - the orthosis should be made as flat and smooth as possible.
> Leave in place and allow to set for 5 minutes, and then remove.

During the hardening phase, the orthosis can be slightly loaded while standing or secured in the corrected position with the hands. After the first trial wear, the orthosis can be trimmed and smoothed as necessary (bur or nail cutter, silicone polisher). Enlargement or repair of the orthosis is done by roughening and degreasing of the attachment point. The orthosis is highly elastic in its finished state, retains its shape, is extremely kind to the skin and is particularly soft. Another special feature is that textile bandages (e.g. RUCK Rinki Toe Bandage) can be incorporated into the material. The individual compounds Strong, Soft and Super-Soft can be mixed with each other. The orthosis is even more durable and versatile when bonded with fabric.

Step-by-step guide

Take equal amounts of forming material and hardener and press flat.

Roll up quickly and knead well.

Create a rough type of mould.

Adapt to the patient and leave to set for 5 mins.

Finish with scissors or bur.

The end product is a perfectly customised, protective and preventative medical device.
