GOLDSTADT professional full brace

GOLDSTADT professional full brace for the treatment of toenails

A GOLDSTADT professional full brace can be used to treat various types of nail problems. This brace model covers the entire nail surface and distributes the force of leverage evenly across the nail plate. This type of toenail brace is suitable, for example, for nails that are involuted on both sides. Its use is especially recommended for nail problems affecting the big toe or for severely thickened nails.

What the GOLDSTADT professional full brace for nail correction provides

Podiatrists and foot care professionals value the GOLDSTADT professional full brace for its simple, safe application, which guarantees patients optimum treatment results. The pre-cut brace with pre-defined ends can be adjusted in a few simple steps, so that it provides maximum comfort with optimal effectiveness. The GOLDSTADT professional full toenail brace is made from high-quality 1.4310 spring steel (chrome-nickel steel), which is primarily used in medical technology and the dental sector.

The gold coating has anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic properties. Yet the full toenail brace impresses thanks to its excellent disinfection and sterilisation properties.

To determine the correct brace size, the individual nail width should be measured before application. You can receive the full brace in a total of five sizes (12, 15, 17, 20 and 23 millimetres) along with two thicknesses (0.1 and 0.15 millimetres) for each size. The width of the brace varies between 2 and 3 millimetres depending on the size.

Unlike the GOLDSTADT professional half brace, which has limited bending force, a full brace for nail correction system exerts a stronger lever effect. It is important that it is fitted accurately so that it can act optimally on the nail being treated. You can find out more about the physical mechanism of action of GOLDSTADT professional nail braces, for example, in our application brochure.

The GOLDSTADT professional full brace is made including high-quality spring steel 1.4310 (chrome-nickel steel) – a material frequently used in medical technology. Thanks to its gold coating, the nail brace has anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic properties. The material also offers excellent hygienic properties and can be safely disinfected and sterilised thanks to these properties.

Directions for applying a GOLDSTADT professional full brace to the toenail

So that nail problems can be treated optimally, it is essential that the nail correction brace used for corrective purposes sits accurately.

  • To prepare, clean the nail folds using a hollow chisel blade or a nail lifter and trim the tip of the nail. Lightly roughen the surface of the nail using a file and clean it with the nail correction system, a special cleaner. This ensures both maximum hygiene and optimum durability of the brace that is present.
  • Pre-softening can be achieved thanks to the pad. Pre-treating the nail with peclavus (5 to 8 minutes’ application time) delivers ‘calmed’ treatment areas.
  • The RUCK Nail Correction Measuring Tool is now used to determine the correct size of the nail correction brace to be used. Instead, put the measuring tool in the nail fold and mark the 0-point on the nail plate. Now measure from both sides of the nail, from the nail fold to this point. The sum of the measurements gives the correct brace size. For example, if you measure 10 mm on the left and 13 mm on the right, 23 is the correct size for the full brace for the toenail.
  • To fit the GOLDSTADT professional full brace, you will need various podiatric instruments, such as the round-nose pliers for shaping the ends of the brace. It is important to ensure a tapered shape towards the lunula with you. To do this, start on one side and push the applicator back only lightly. The second side of the brace can then be set. Now carefully slide the full brace into its final position. The existing underlying tension is reinforced by motion, which is why an exact, pain-free fit is of the utmost importance. Finally, degrease the entire surface again with a specialised product such as the RUCK nail correction system Cleaner and protect the sensitive nail folds with cotton pads.
  • To ensure that the GOLDSTADT professional full brace sits securely on the toenail, wear a light-curing acrylic gel such as the RUCK silver UV Gel on the nail plate. The gel may be worn directly on the pad. The gel is then set using a light curing lamp for approx. 2 minutes. Remove the dispersion layer using the cleaner. The pads can also be removed.
